He Started at 8 Pounds, 15.4 Ounces.....

"Can I come upstairs yet?" Tristan's face gleams with excitement first thing this morning. He knows what's waiting on the birthday table.
.

It's a bounty...
.

Of Legos, jammies, a movie, a toy hulk, army guys, and a compass.
.

How old are you Tristan?
.

Oh yes, eight. Today he got to have his birth-day menu choices: Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lunchables, and Dominoes Pizza yet to come for dinner. It's always tickled me how they could choose difficult, time consuming dishes like Eggs Benedict, chicken crepes, or beef wellington. But, lucky for mom, they are kids. I nearly did not escape the stove on this particular birthday-
"So, what do you want for your birthday breakfast tomorrow?" I asked.
"Pancakes!" said Tristan. (We make ours with homeground wheat flour, yes- we are granola)
"PANCAKES?" guffawed Kiki with incredulity.
"What could be better than pancakes?" he asked.
"LOT'S of stuff, toaster strudel, donuts, pop tarts, Lucky Charms..." she lists.
"OH, okay, Cinnamon Toast Crunch," he decided.
Whew. How close those whole grains, vitamins and minerals came to being consumed.

I think Tristan and (actually ALL your boys) would be friends with our Jacob.

Happy Birthday, Tristan!
