The Truth About Birds....

The first bird to break out in song in my neighborhood today, started at 4:13am. I know this because I woke up at 3:59 and lay awake thinking thoughts such as:

"It's 3:59."

"I'm awake."

Back to the bird. What's significant is that he sang alone until 4:33. You know the other birds heard him. What were they thinking?

"Who's that?"

"It's Horace again."

"Ahhhhh, man. Are you gonna get up?"

"Nope."

"Are you waitin' for The Crack?"

"Yep."

"Good. Yeah. Right, wait for the crack of dawn. Let's do that."

Nobody even thought it was worth it until 4:55.

So all that talk about early birds? The truth is...they're sleeping in.
