Until the Real Fun Came....

Today we were biding our time until the real fun came.

Tristy pushed Kiki on the float.

And shot her with water enough to maintain his little brother status.

Greyson pouted by the poolside because he had earned a timeout for doing something big brotherish.

And the green donut kept everyone happy until the real fun arrived that night.

It's a Palm Tree Thing

Palm trees are so impressive when you've never seen them before. I got immune to palm trees and orange trees when I lived here. But to the kids, they are still a big deal.

As are cool cars.

And seeing a movie in a real theatre.

And getting real concessions. This was lunch. Or at least it cost as much.

A Date With Shirley

Shirley knew the perfect place to take the kids. Who knew the mall would have everything we wanted?

A play place.

Surfing.

Race cars.

Motorcycles.

Quiznos.

Free refills.

Fire trucks.

Puppies!

Model fantasy figurines.

Fountains.

For contemplating.

And dreaming.

And calculating.

And the wrong restroom for someone who wasn't paying attention.

It was a banner day. We'd never hit so many 10's in one place before.

Missing Daddy Pictures...

Hi Daddy! We miss you.
Here are our faces so you don't have to miss us too much.

This is what it looks like when we go swimming:
And when we take a walk around the complex:
Did you know they have cool cars in California?
This is what we did today when we weren't in the pool.
We wish you were here with us!

Eight Pics to End the Day

How Sawyer sits on a stool.

Three funny faces captured by Greyson at the restaurant:

Mr. Lizard captured by Kiki at Shirley's:

He had a shimmering blue belly.

Really cool.

Shirley has the best back porch to eat on. Nothing beats the sun filtered through the backyard trees on an early Southern California evening.

How to Eat Wedding Cake

With a fork.

Lots of forks.

Sawyer thought this was the greatest thing in the world. And will probably think this is how all wedding cakes are eaten.

What he didn't realize was that this cake was compromised by ice water on it's bottom layer and was too soggy to be served. Rather than throw it out, Aunt Cecee offered those brave enough a fork.
When the brave ones were done, the bravest of all gave it one last squish before the cake saw the trash can. Because they'd never be able to do it again.

It was a double-decker day.

Table Jumping and Dirt

What else went on at the wedding reception, besides these shenanigans?

Hunter demonstrated how his guitar also doubled as a table.

Kiki showed us how the tables doubled as an obstacle course.

Sandy showed us how she doubled as a stuffed animal model.

Sawyer was pointing his finger at the culprits who dared to pour the ice out of the ice buckets when they cleaned up. He only saw it as a big mess that needed scolding.

Until he saw how it also doubled nicely as a play place.

Why is it that my kids can't leave dirt alone?

Wherever we go.

There's a whole park full of play ground equipment and a bouncy castle. Here they are, in their preferred element.
