Labs have enough hair growing between their paw pads that it makes getting a grip on wood floors difficult.
Poor Daisy slips and slides all over the place. She can usually correct herself. But she'd rather slowly slide into the splits if it means we'll pet her head while she stays stationary. In this picture, Kiki had just removed her hand from Daisy's head after a good scratchin'.
It's what we love about 'man's best friend'. They'll put up with all kinds of things we would never submit to, just to be your dog.

Our labs were so funny on wood floors. Our black one would run on the carpet and come to a quick brake then tippy toe on the wood. (It was funny to watch...he really did tippy toe)
I miss Daisy dog!
