Today

Boats have rated highly around here lately.
Here is Sawyer in one of his.
And here are Sawyer and Tristan in one of theirs. I know this looks like a car, but it's a boat. The oars double as guns, and also for the secret of securing the boat once it stops.
"This is how it stops, Tristan, like this." says Sawyer, jamming his oar into the grass.
They've also found a new use for the jump rope.

And later in the afternoon everyone came running inside shouting:
"Come outside!"
"Look Mom!"
"You've got to see!"
"What is a rainbow, Mom?" asked Tristan.
"It's the promise God made that He would never destroy the earth again", offered Kiki in my stead (as she so often does).
Sawyer quickly cut to the issue at hand:
"Can we slide down it!?"
Which is what everyone wanted to know in the first place.

Rainbows would be such perfect giant slides....

...especially when you landed in the jelly bean pile at the bottom of them...except when the jelly bean pile gets all sticky and hard because of the rain :( hmm, maybe i wouldn't slide down it then
