Remember the Lake? Well, just across a wee road from that lake is the Marsh.
The city has built a sturdy wooden sidewalk over it, so you can get somewhere. It beckons one to see what's at the sidewalk's end. First, a bit of the journey.....
"That water is DEEP. Look Sawyer!"
"I wanna see!"
"Climb up here, Sawyer."
Greyson was being Greyson grump because he really wanted to be back at the lake.
"Mom, take my picture here!"
"Can we run to the end, Mom?"
The sidewalk just kept going and going. "When am I going to get my treat?" said Sawyer. This was because after we cleaned the house and went to the marsh, we were going to get a reward.
Finally! Our destination....
It's an ugly recycling plant. The is what the city spent lots of time, effort and money building a wooden sidewalk to. This could be why Greyson would rather be at the Lake.
To make up for it, we found the perfect patch of flowers for Daisy to pose in on the way back.
Greyson getting attacked by a swarm of bugs.
And finally, what he'd been waiting for.
"Hmmm, Tristan can throw a rock far...."
"So can I." The windup...
The release.
Tristan found an elephant head rock.
Sawyer found that the new shoes he got today are NOT waterproof.
Pell-mell. His little arms pump like pistons wherever he runs. So we call him the pell-mell boy.
Wading unabated by squishy shoes.
Conclusion: Even though the wooden sidewalk doesn't go anywhere, it still had lots of pretty scenery and was well worth the walk. And besides, you always have the Lake to come back to.
